Kathmandu Durbar Square one of the Historic Places

                                        
   
   Kathmandu Durbar Square is famous for its architectural legacy and also for its mesmerizing charm.Also it reckoned as the Hanuman Dhoka. It is believed to be the place from where the kings used to get ruled and crowned which is now has been declared as a World Heritage Site and is counted among some of the most famous and visited tourist destinations in the capital city of Nepal. The architecture was home to numerous majestic buildings including palaces and temples amongst which most of them had been lost in the devastating earthquake of 2015

      The Kathmandu Durbar Square held the palaces of the Malla and Shah kings who ruled over the city. Along with these palaces, the square surrounds quadrangles, revealing courtyards and temples. It is known as Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square, a name derived from a statue of Hanuman, the monkey devotee of Lord Ram, at the entrance of the palace
  
                                             
Why need to visit here :

  •  to get a deep knowledge of the rulers of Malla Dynasty and also the glorious past of the place and its origin.
  • Location: It hardly takes 25 minutes to reach from the Kathmandu airport as the structure is located just in the center of the city.
  • Entry Fee: NPR 1000 for foreign nationals and it’s free for children below 10 years of age.
  • Timings: Tuesday – Sunday (10:30 am – 4:30 pm) on Sunday it closes at 2:30 pm.
  • Things to Do: Explore the ruins of the Structures, gather some beautiful memories in the frame, and also to explore the beauty and skills of the Newar craftsmen.

  • Best Time to Visit: Mar to May and then September to November.
