than just a market, Asan market is most oldest market on south Asia. Now Asan
Market is more famous for wholesale retail sale. This is the most crowded
market of whole Nepal country if you want to compare with other market . Asan (also spelled Ason)Which is very nearby or
together so many temples, pagoda and old Newari buildings, its own festivals
and a very long and distinguished history. Asan was on the old India-Tibet
trade route and has been a bustling marketplace for many centuries. The
location is actually a square upon which six streets meet. If market browsing
is on the agenda, Asan should be the first port of call in Kathmandu. Along the
congested lanes around Asan, vendors sell traditional Nepali items like dried
spices, cheap textiles, Nepali wedding paraphernalia and much more.
Every
day, produce is carried to this popular marketplace from all over the valley,
so it is fitting that the three-storey Annapurna Temple in the southeast corner
is dedicated to the goddess of abundance; Annapurna is represented by a silver
purana, a bowl full of grain. At most times, but especially on Sundays, you’ll
see locals walk around the shrine, touch a coin to their heads, throw it into
the temple and ring the bell above them.

people. Kalimati market also famous for the wholesale market. This market is
mostly famous for all kind of fresh vegetables, some local home made dry food
item like dry chili, dry vegetable (Gundruk) or more, fresh fruits, flowers,
etc. At the Kalimati Market you can get mostly local product vegetables but
still you can get the vegetables which is import from other places. Travellers
who are particularly interested in food and fresh produce will enjoy a stroll
through the busy market, checking out the raw ingredients that go into many
meals served in the city’s restaurants.
